Biography

UK-based soprano Jennifer is a graduate of the MA Opera Performance course at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, where she was the grateful recipient of a Leverhulme Scholarship and the Jo and Martin Furber Prize for Opera. Previously, Jennifer read English at Girton College, Cambridge, where she was a choral scholar.  She continues to study privately with Arwel Treharne Morgan.

In the 2020 season she sang Flora / The Turn of the Screw and Gretel / Hansel and Gretel: Whistlestop Opera (both for Opera North) and was due to sing Anne Egerman / A Little Night Music for Opera North and Leeds Playhouse (postponed due to Coronavirus). She was also involved in several digital projects: as Aimee in The Den for Opera Harmony, Project Director / Hansel and Gretel: digital storybook project for Opera Anywhere, and online recitals with PerSona and Tring Productions.
Engagements in the 2018/19 season included Flora / The Turn of the Screw for Bury Court Opera,​ Bacchis / La Belle Hélène for New Sussex Opera in collaboration with Opera della Luna and an exciting residency at Snape Maltings working on a new opera, Façon Tragique de Tuer une Femme, with composer Diana Soh and librettist Richard Dubelski. Jennifer rejoined the chorus of The Grange Festival for their critically acclaimed productions of Belshazzar and Falstaff, in addition to Merry Opera's touring production of Messiah. She also sang the roles of Mabel / The Pirates of Penzance, Josephine / HMS Pinafore and Patience / Patience, all for Opera Anywhere.

Blondchen (cover) / The Abduction from the Seraglio and Emmie (cover) / Albert Herring, all for The Grange Festival, First Boy / The Magic Flute (WNO), Gretel / Hansel and Gretel (Opera’r Ddraig); Cupid / Venus, King Arthur (New Sussex Opera), and Sarah (cover), A Perfect Picnic for Opera on the Run; Jenny / Bel Canto Adventures – My Perfect World (WNO workshops), Adele (cover) / Die Fledermaus (Opéra de Baugé); Vixen, Rosaura and Lucy Lockit in Mr Punch and Me (Richard Burton Theatre), The Nightingale / L’enfant et les sortilèges and Parrot / Pinocchio, (Bute Park Opera); Second Woman and First Witch / Dido & Aeneas (Sforza), Flora / The Turn of the Screw (Hungarian State Opera orchestra); Iphis /Jephtha; Cupid / Venus & Adonis (Sforza); Galatea / Acis and Galatea (Opera’r Ddraig); Iris / Semele and First Boy / The Magic Flute (Hampstead Garden Opera); Tytania / A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Opera Links). Recordings include Verdi Macbeth for ENO and Chandos, and The Mummy (2017 film.) 

​Jennifer is a frequent concert soloist whose engagements include Handel Israel in Egypt (Florilegium / Wimbledon Choral Society), the Bush Christmas Cantata and Mozart Vesperae di Dominica, Schutz Christmas Story with Armonico Consort (Cadogan Hall), Mozart Vesperae di Confessore, Mozart Requiem, Pergolesi Stabat Mater, Brahms Requiem and Handel Messiah. She has also appeared with consort groups such as The Sixteen,  Britten Sinfonia Voices, Southwell Festival Voices, Tenebrae, Armonico Consort Soloists and Musica Beata.
